Hi I’m Ryan Gutierrez aka gootecks. I’m in the process of turning competitive fighting games into a mainstream activity. I started out by playing in tournaments but soon also began to build a following by creating and producing the Street Fighter podcast, where I’d sit down with the best Street Fighter players and talk about strategy and the culture of the game. Next I introduced Bar Fights, a series of innovative fighting game events that features the best players in America. Most recently I’ve created LA Riots, an exclusive tournament of only the best players that’s streamed live to thousands of viewers across the world.

Here are some of my player qualifications, so to speak:

• Won Season 1 of Arcade Infinity’s Street Fighter 4 Ranking Battle Tournament Series
• Won the Street Fighter 4 Tournament at Sinsation Fight Club in Fairfax, VA in February 2009
• Got 2nd place in Street Fighter 4 at Final Round XII in Atlanta, Georgia in March 2009
• Qualified to go to SBO 2008 in Japan for SF3: 3rd Strike with teammates Justin Wong and kofiend.  AND we made it past the first round!
